Why do people have their back brakes on the right side of the handlebars?

i see a few people that have their back brakes which is normally on the left side of your handlebars on the right side of their handlebars.
should i do this and why do people do this?

It just depends on what side you feel like pulling the brake lever on.

The industry (Biking in all forms) standard placement of a rear brake is on the right. The only reason to move it to the left is if you're left handed. That's why when you buy levers it says Right Lever (Rear) or something along those lines.

Therefore, you're the one with an oddly placed brake lever.

its all personal preference i know a couple guys that ride there back breaks on the left side just all on what you like better

i would ride breaks i mean we probably wouldent have hit as hard if you had breaks lol and your knee wouldent have been ripped open lol
