i dpnt know but the guy at the store said it would be fine.. so i hoping it will be of not its only £20

Yeah it should be good as long as you have the right gear ratio. Its also a gt chainwheel though. It will work but next time you buy parts try and stick with reliable companys like shadow,demoliton,eastern,etc Try and stay away from parts from companys like haro and gt and mongoose and stuff. Your chainwheel should be fine though i doubt it will break unless you mess up on a grind and bend it or something.
