whats a good bike for me to get?

Im new to BMX and i want a good beginner-intermediate bike. i skateboard but Ive seen BMX and it looks SICK. i kind of need a good one that's cheap. i cant go over 300, my price limit. i saw a hoffman, are they good. give me sites to look for any please. thanks

I no its fine when you ask questions we all ask questions around here. A hoffman would be a fine bike but not an 18 inch and 18 is to small its almost like a little kids bike. I would look real big on an 18 and im shorter than you.

The lowdown is a 20 but your better off saving about 20 to 40 more dollars and getting a bike for around 300 and using a 13% off coupon on friday the 13th for danscomp.com so your getting a better bike and a better deal by buying for more. Also you can add pegs or other parts seperately to your order and you dont have to pay sales tax.

Plus you will want to get a bike that has sealed parts if you get an unsealed back rim it will die on you in 6 months to a year and a half and you will either have to buy a 150 to 200 dollar sealed rim that will last for almost ever or you will have to buy another unsealed for about 90 and it will end up messing up in about 6 months again. So the best thing i can advise is to save up to get a bike that is nice and strong for around 400 and in two years or so you will be able to upgrade it with even better parts.

dude tell me, will this be a waste of money for me? are the tricks to the points that ill give up and basically waste the money from the bike?(as in their hard as hell). does the weight of the bike matter? how many tricks can their be on a bike anywayz?

Start with a good bmx bike because if your willing to buy a good bike you will stay with it. There are tons of tricks you can do also as you asked. Watch some videos or something on vitalbmx.com you will most likely want a light bike thats below 30 lbs so look into fits,easterns,etc and they should be around 300 for your first bike. I can probably find you a promotion code to get the bike you want even cheaper on danscomp. You will want a bike with 3 pc cranks and small chainwheel and 14 mm axles and sealed bb and sealed rear cassete.

is the sealed rear cassete the most important? other then that this bike has everything. unless you could find a better.

That bike should last you 2 to 3 years and it will only need new pedals grips and tubes and tires so your set for a long time.

im having second thought dude. i think im just gunna get a wal-mart bike to get me into it for a couple months. they got some bmx ones from tony hawk.
after im done with that, i ll get that first FIT bikes you showed me probaly, how long does that deal go on? are they going to have another one? because 320 is alot of money. i was hoping to get it for under 300 but i know their expensive.

Tony hawk is not a bmx bike if you try doing anything on a tony hawk you will break it real easy plus they are overpriced for how bad they are.
